RWCS Commemorative 2006, Round Up Teapot
This commemorative was issued at the Red Wing Collectors Society annual convention in 2006. It is a fascimile of a teapot from the Round Up pattern of dinnerware. The Red Wing Potteries company produced the original Round Up pattern in the 1950's and 1960's. Molded as two different parts, just like the original teapot, the 2006 commemorative includes both the teapot and the teapot cover. The 2006 RWCS commemorative is decorated with two different decals. Both decals depict the cowboy scenes from the original Round Up teapot and decorate opposite sides of the commemorative. The bottom of the commemorative is also marked with mold impressions which state RWCS and 2006. The 2006 RWCS commemorative was produced by the Western Stoneware Company. Limited numbers of the commemorative were ever made. An extra sometimes included with the commemorative is a folded card printed with more information about the original Round Up dinnerware pattern and the 2006 commemorative. The Red Wing Collectors Society has issued a commemorative, a miniature facsimile of an actual Red Wing company's product, at their annual convention since 1977. These products were not manufactured by Red Wing, but have become highly collectible in their own right. The organization for and by collectors of Red Wing is the Red Wing Collectors Society. The society consigns the production of various collectible items that commemorate the Red Wing stoneware companies, the society itself and their annual convention. Collecting Red Wing stoneware, dinnerware and art pottery can be a rewarding and exciting hobby. These Red Wing collectibles will enhance your collection!
